This is the year….

This is the year…

…that I stop procrastinating,
…that I stop making excuses,
…that I stop allowing my insecurities dictate my course,
…that I accomplish my life’s ambition,
…that I start anew and let go of that which holds me back.

This is the year it all comes together. New year, new beginnings. I hope you all have a wonderful 2015.

2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,900 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 48 trips to carry that many people.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends.
I hope you find peace, love, and hope during this holiday season.

Snark and gratitude

Yesterday when I arrived at work, one of my assistant managers saw me and waved me over to the store manager’s office, which is always a great way to start of the day. She then handed me a small envelope in which a Starbucks gift card and a thank you card had been placed. It was a simple thank you for my hard work getting the store ready for inventory.

The amusing part is when she handed me the card, she begged me not to write a review of the thank you card. It cracked me up, but I immediately scanned the card for spelling and grammatical errors. I found none. Damn it! Well, I appreciate the gesture and the accompanying snark.

Back to work…er…writing

After much waffling, I pulled out one of my books and got back to work. It didn’t last long, however, as life once again intruded into my intentions and I had to take care of business. No matter. I got started, and I’m back to do a little more work before I head off to bed.

I had to do a little catching up on what I had written, namely what I have changed prior to the beginning of NaNoWriMo back in November. I like what’s there, but I have a few more tweaks to go. The change is fairly major, but I’m hoping it doesn’t get out of control. I just hated what was there to begin with.

So, now I’m back to work, reading and rewriting. I should get someone else to do it. I’m way too neurotic to do anything constructive. Oh well, it’s already begun.
